Rip It Up and Start Again: Postpunk 1978-1984

Watch as the once unified punk movement splinters into a thousand pieces, and John Lydon realizes that while he was fighting the man someone stole his name, and has to use the man's court system to get it back.

A rather enjoyable commute book.

As always the import version is a little better than the US release - it has a nice little history of So Cal + SST in it...

But wouldn't this have been way better as an audiobook?

I love the idea of this as an audiobook. With songs popped in where they're talked about.

but who would you have as the reader?

Malcolm McLaren. He'd add in some extra bile and commentary.

hmm, yeah, that's a good choice.

I was thinking either Anne Carlisle (from Liquid Sky), Michael Winterbottom or Lee Perry would be great - just for a sort of cross-marketing appeal. If they wouldn't do it, I'd be okay going with either Gordon or Merlin.

Maybe Dean can let Rodney out of his box to read this for us. Whaddaya say, Dean?
