QotD: Collector's Item
What do you collect?
I collect Moleskin notebooks. Not on purpose, mind you. It's just that everytime I'm at a bookstore there's a fresh batch of them, all wrapped and full of promise with thick creamy pages waiting for me to draw or write in them.
And there's ALWAYS a new style or format to be checked out. Ruled, unruled, graph, vertical, horizontal, small, pocketsized, datebook, oh there's a RED one coming out!
The end result is that I've collected a nice, tall pile of Moleskins with about 3 pages of scrawls in each one, and a promise of beer should you happen to find it lost in the street.
Of course, I blame Merlin.

My father tells me that Ernest Hemingway is alleged to have been a big fan of the brand. I don't know if that's true or not, but I certainly am.
I don't think Hemingway ever used them to write in. He just shot at them or threw them at hooker's heads.
I had to look up Chatwin. Turns out it's Justin Chatwin who played the gay son of Kevin Nealon's character on the Showtime comedy series Weeds.
Not really of the same caliber as Papa and Picasso, but hey - thank god for the internet. I had no idea he was on Showtime.
And yes, I too seem to have a collection of empty moleskins lying about. Perhaps we could sew their covers into some kind of protective encounter suit for Decompression parties? You know, to keep the hippy off?
